Classes and Child Care continue
For those asking for an update — our building is owned by Yarra Ranges Council and we lease the premises from them. We are currently waiting on final testing and formal reports from Council’s engineers and building surveyors to determine the full extent of the structural damage and the timeline for repairs.
While the building may be closed for now, the heart of the House is still very much alive.
We cannot wait for the day we open those doors again and welcome you home.

Selby Occasional Childcare
Places still available for 2026!
Whilst Selby Community House is closed for structural repairs, we will be relocating our Childcare Service to operate from Menzies Creek Primary School, in our own separate building and outdoor plays pace.
Our opening date at this new temporary location will be Monday 20 April 2026
Selby Childcare Centre is a lovely place for children to play, grow and socialise.

Right now, our beautiful House sits quiet. The rooms that are usually filled with laughter, learning, connection and conversation are still. And we miss it — and you — more than we can put into words.
We have received so many messages, emails and phone calls asking when we will reopen. We have been overwhelmed by the well wishes, the offers of help, and the heartfelt stories about what the House means to you. Thank you. Truly. Your support reminds us just how special this place is.

Selby Community House has stood for 50 years because of this community — because of generations of volunteers, families, learners, children and neighbours who have walked through those doors.
